Come and live your nature activity with O'Nordic
O'Nordic was established in 2022. The small husky farm is located on the southern slope of Hyväniemi, 20km from Posio towards Kuusamo. Surrounded mainly by the great Lake Kitka and forests, we welcome you all year round with our Alaskan huskies and our Yakutia laikas!
In winter: dog sledding, snowshoeing with dogs.
In summer autumn: cani-hike for the whole family, visit of the farm.
Maïlys, your French guide will share with you her passion and the love she has for her sled dogs.

About Us
Humans
Originally from France, both (Maïlys & Mehdi) graduated with a master degree in wildlife conservation and biodiversity of sustainable development, we are passionate about nature, wildlife and dogs.
From autumn 2018, we share the same passion for working as a guide/handler for sled dog compagnies (France, Sweden, Finland). In 2019, we have decided for a permanent life in Finland, and we bought our first house in 2020, in Posio.
Alaskan huskies
Sultan, adopted from a shelter in France at the age of 5, was our first Alaskan husky. It was once that we settled in Posio that we continued to acquire other alaskan huskies, with their past stories or from a very young age (like Nimi). It is with us that they continue their adventures until the end.
Yakutian laika
The Yakutian laika was after the acquisition of Sultan (an Alaskan husky), the breed we turned to. It is a recent breed, but old due to its origin. Coming from a region with an extreme climate (Yakutia), these dogs were used as sled dogs, hunting dogs, reindeer herding dogs, but also as companion dogs.
Hens
Our first hens arrived in 2021. At present, there are about thirty laying hens that accompany us every day.
During the summer season, they enjoy the yard with a large space just dedicate for them. Sometimes you can even find them outside for the more adventurous.
All year-round activities
WINTER
Lapland is a beautiful environment, where the cold transforms the landscape into a crystallized, white, silent, soft and peaceful universe. But it is also an opening towards adventure because Lapland can provide us with surprising weather.
The immensity of Lake Kitka will make you feel lost as if in a white desert, surrounded by more or less large islands.
Come and discover this magnificent universe with a dog sled ride, or a snowshoe hike accompanied by a dog.
SUMMER & AUTUMN
Explore Lapland in summer under the midnight sun, or in autumn during the magnificent "ruska" season, with the magic of the forests, the immensity of the lakes, and the picking of berries or mushrooms. Come and meet the dogs and our laying hens, or also take part in a hike accompanied by a dog, suitable for families and children! Friendly and nice moments guaranteed with our dogs.
